HERITAGE & LEARNING
CELEBARING DREAMLANDS RICH PAST
The Dreamland Heritage Trust believe that heritage is not something that is just in the past. It is about what is happening now, and how that might be interpreted in the future. The Trust celebrates the importance of Dreamland’s unique past and its significant place in the history of British seaside towns and popular cultural heritage.
HERITAGE
CELEBRATING DREAMLAND
The Dreamland Heritage Trust believe that heritage is not something that is just in the past. It is about what is happening now, and how that might be interpreted in the future. The Trust celebrates the importance of Dreamland’s unique past and its significant place in the history of British seaside towns and popular cultural heritage.
Dreamland’s rich history and wide-ranging themes are brought to life through the Trust’s vast archive collection of photographs, film and ephemera, which is currently being catalogued to enable it to be accessible for learning, exhibition, publication, talks, presentations and heritage events and activities.
The Trust continues to share the history and enjoyment of Dreamland and to find new ways to interpret the parks rich heritage through its collaborative work with organisations including museums, archives, volunteers, schools, colleges, private collectors and community organisations.
EDUCATION
LEARN ABOUT OUR HERITAGE
From primary schools to adult learners, community projects, research and symposia, The Dreamland Heritage Trust aims to help everyone develop an understanding of our cultural heritage. We are continuing to develop our learning and engagement programme, which includes school activities, academic research, archiving, publications, training, talks, tours, exhibitions, projects, workshops, film screenings and creative interpretation.
With heritage at its heart, Dreamland offers a wealth of interactive learning and story-telling opportunities. It has an abundance of themes to explore, ranging from the British railway boom to the origins of amusement parks, circus, cinema, modernist architecture, popular culture, youth culture and many more. We aim to educate and inspire!
